Doug LaBelle has over 22 years of experience in Counseling/Psychotherapy, including working with clients with chemical and process addictions, and in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) plus 16 years business management experience.
During this time, he has provided Individual, Couples and Family Therapy in a Family Service Agency and for Inpatient and Intensive Outpatient Chemical Dependence Treatment programs, directed a hospital based internal/external EAP and directed an internal EAP for a large multi-state electric utility.
This unique combination of Clinical and Business experience provides knowledge and skills that now help Doug work effectively as a Private Practice Psychotherapist, Consultant and Interventionist with individuals, families, groups and business organizations.
As a Board Registered Interventionist I, Doug works with and supports families, friends and business organizations around the process of Intervention when alcohol, other addictions, mental health problems or other issues reach the point that this step is both necessary and appropriate. By learning to lovingly and respectfully present the reality of the current situation, families and friends can take the difficult and caring step to help an addicted individual understand both the impact of the addiction and his or her need to go for help now. Doug has trained in several intervention models and uses 2 - the ARISE Invitational Model and the Johnson Model.
In addition to being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in IL and WI and a Board Registered Interventionist I, Doug is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional and a National Certified Gambling Counselor II.

As a clinician and case manager for a premier substance abuse facility, I have had the pleasure of referring several families of patients requiring interventions for drugs and alcohol to Doug LaBelle. I have received positive feedback from families and from patients who sought treatment after using Doug as an interventionist. All feedback has been favorable. I have found Doug to be committed to his profession, professional in his approach and interaction with patients and their families, and highly successful in helping the patient to commit and enter the appropriate treatment required for recovery from the disease of addiction.
